Dr. John D, Smith has been engaged in Christian ministry for over 20 years, serving in the academy, the church, and the non-profit environment. He has participated in local church youth and discipleship, church planting, parachurch conferences, and itinerant speaking ministries.
John holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and currently teaches courses in Bible, theology, and leadership at Lee University. He is an ordained bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and serves as a regular speaker for the midweek service at Central Church in Charlotte, NC and in various church and leadership settings.
Alongside his work in ministry and academia, John has spent over 20 years in executive leadership in business. This integrated experience shapes his approach to leadership, faith, and formation in real-world contexts.
John’s work is centered on helping people develop a deeper understanding of Scripture while encouraging believers in their Christian faith and discipleship.
He has been married for over 20 years, and his family includes three gifted children. Together their family lives near Charlotte, NC.
